House Fire 2-12-2010

     Around noon on Febuary 12th, 2010, the department was called to a reported house fire in the center of town. Engine 1 and Chief 1 arrived and reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the house. There was a hydrant located in the front yard so water supply was quickly established and crews made an aggressive interior attack. Firefighters had trouble getting to the fire right away do to lots of furniture, high heat, and dense smoke. Ladder 1 and Rescue 1 arrived and quickly went to work on the roof and conditions greatly improved inside. The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes with crews remaining on scene for about 2 hours doing overhaul. Units on the assignment were Engine 1, 2, Rescue 1, Ladder 1, Air Unit 1, Unit 202, and Chief 1.
