The Mountain Home Fire Department was called to a reported residential structure fire on the evening of June 1st, 2008. Upon arrival of the first engine, they found a 1 story duplex with smoke coming out the front door of one unit. With all occupants accounted for firefighters made a quick attack on the fire that was located in the kitchen and dining / laundry room area. While checking for extension the crews were told that there was still a little girls cat that was missing. Firefighters found the cat and brought it outside and quickly assisted the animal with O2. The cat made a quick recovery and was given back to the little girl. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour doing overhaul and picking up. Units that responded were Engine 1, 2, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1. |
