The Mountain Home Fire Department was called to a reported structure fire at Baxter Healthcare on the north side of the city. Upon arrival units found heavy smoke coming from a large portion of the building in the rear. Firefighters made entry and encountered heavy black smoke, but were able to find a stairwell and make it to the area of the fire where they quickly brought it under control. A sprinkler over the fire area had also activated to help keep the fire in check. The fire was thought to have been caused by a machine malfunction due to a power loss in the area. Units that responded were Engine 1, 2, Ladder 1, Tower Ladder 1, Air unit 1, Unit 202, and Chief 1. |
