The department was called to a reported structure fire on the east side of the district on early Saturday morning. Upon arrival, Engine 2 found a 1 story house with heavy fire coming out of the roof. Crews started an interior attack and were also advised that the house was vacant. Due to heavy fire in the attic and deteriorating interior conditions crews pulled back to the front of the house. Within minutes a partial roof collapse followed by a full roof collapse made crews go to defensive operations. Crews were on the scene for about 3 hours hitting hotspots and picking up. Units on the assignment were Engines 2, 3, Tankers 1, 2, Mobile air unit, N. E. Lakeside Tanker, Fire Inspector 202 and Chief 201.
