On June 14th, 2008, firefighters were called to an attached garage on fire on the north side of the city. Upon arrival of the 1st engine the crew found a large house with fire in an attached garage. Crews pulled a 1.75" hand line and made entry into the garage where the found fire along the wall that had also extended into the attic. Crews began pulling ceiling and finally got ahead of the fire and kept it from extending into the living area of the house. No injuries were reported and very light smoke got into the living area, but the garage sustained heavy damage. Units on the assignment were Engine 1, 2, 6, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Unit 203, and Chief 1.
