Fire at Captain D's 2-17-08

Firefighters were called out around midnight for smoke coming from the roof of Captain D's restaurant. Engine 2 arrived within 3 minutes and found heavy smoke throughout the restaurant. Crews made an interior attack and found the bulk of the fire to be in the kitchen and storage area. Ladder 1 arrived and ventilated the structure. The IC noticed the AC unit was sagging and an evacuation of the building was ordered. Once everyone was out and PAR was completed, with all members being accounted for, then crews went to a defensive mode. The main fire was knocked down quickly with firefighters being on scene for about 3 hours doing salvage and overhaul. Crews that responded on the alarm were: Engines 1, 2, 3, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Unit 202, and Chief 1.
